Ricki,
Hope you're making progress. Probably a good idea to take a break (good time of year, too.) The increased rain (and mold) can cause candida flare-ups too.

Hi Ricki,

Although I am not as into regular blog-reading as are most of the others who have written and regularly read your posts, I have always found your log writing to be really witty and funny and obviously possessing of a total flair for creative, healthy , delicious and (a bonus) GLUTEN-FREE! Thank you for this, and your presence IS VERY missed, as so many lovely, loving replies stand witness to: I also miss your posts, but I agree so strongly with Susana aove who says:
"Our health is definitely the most important thing in our lives. Without it everything vanishes away." You must always deal with that
So I also say, "You Go, Girl: tear that candida UP!" I am so sorry the symptoms you have been doing so much (for a long time)to fight have gotten the upper hand for now. My thoughts and prayers are with you for the duration. Take good care of yourself,Ricki: (and let your HH help too-- and of course, your darling dogs- dogs can be so good at helping us heal,I strongly believe that)I know you will miss blogging here alot, but all of your blog0-o-sphere buddies will sit tight and will all await your return and your healing. TakeSincerely, Nina

Hello, I have just learned of your blog and new book, only to find that you've taken a break! I was drawn to your book because alot of your approach meshes nicely with my own attempts to follow my own alternative health based diet. Mine happens to be for allergies/asthma, based on classical chinese medicine approach (not necessarily the same as TCM though often there's overlap) where I'm supposed to avoid gluten, dairy, sugar, and anything cold or raw (!). I can intellectually accept the 1st 3 more readily b/c I was trying to be vegan anyway for the past 8-9 mos, and gluten free is another way of expanding my culinary horizons so though this is harder, I do find it interesting. So I am excited to read your book and wish you well on your own journey!

Hello I just wanted to let you know how much you have been helping me help my family eat much healthier. It's such a pleasure reading your blog and trying your recipes. I wanted to ask you a pretty BIG favor. Not too sure you will agree, but I figured what the heck can't hurt to ask. I have a party coming up for my son and would like to bake him some of his favorite cupcakes. I remembered that you have a soy-free recipe for whipped "cream" and being on a pretty tight budget at the moment lol cannot purchase your cookbook (although I absolutely plan to in the future)I wanted to kindly ask if you would be willing to email me the recipe. My son LOVES whipped cream on his cupcakes and I would like to make a healthy soy-free version and since you tested this recipe out SO many times I trust it won't disappoint. Thank you so much and please keep up the fantastic work you do. It's inspiring :)
